Player profiles (Provided by Rich "Potter" Holme)
MIKE DEEBLE (LB/LM)
Deebs is the longest serving A team player in the squad and he was part of the famous treble winning side of four years ago. He brings versatility, experience and above all a real element of niceness to the team. A thoroughly decent chap and damn good player to boot.
TOM RIGBY (Utility)
The quite man Rigby has been compared to Ryan Giggs but his playing style resembles that of another famous Welshman, Clayton Blackmore. Tom is a former B team player of the year, mainly because he had to do the work of two men, whilst covering for Dan Ford. He has brought this work ethic with him to the A’s. The only negative point being his inability to distinguish between team mates’ christian and surnames.
MATTY GWYILM (M)
A close season signing from MethSoc, Matt provides extra steel to the A team midfield but is also an accomplished passer of the ball. Matt has also weighed in with some very important early season goals. Accusations of illegal payments (of kebabs) to his agent, (a certain D Ford), have been strenuously denied by both parties.
DAN BARRATT (CM/RM)
Another new addition to the A’s Dan showed real class in the season opening win versus Jesmond Mysterons. He has been utilised in the centre of the park or out wide and came off the bench to score twice during the rout of the B team. Another classy footballer he will ensure there is real competition for the midfield slots.
BEN THORPE (CF)
Ben, or Tom as he likes to be known, is often confused with his strike partner Ben Smith, the one foot height difference being the only obvious give away. Ben is fast, skilful and likely to cause more than one Corinthian defender a few nightmares. He is also another player who likes to let his feet do the talking.
MARK ENVY (CF)
Possibly the missing piece in the A team jigsaw Mark has stepped in to the shoes of recently promoted Ben Smith. Having signed from former Corinthian outfit D2 Mark scooped the B team player of the year award last term. He is a fantastic finisher and a very intelligent centre forward.
