Last committee meeting

Saturday May 14th

Two great results for 1sts and As. The 1sts who started the day as the division's lowest scorers put four past Stobswood in the first 20 minutes at Benson Park with a calmly taken brace from Josh Gow, a Matthew Buckley header and keeper Steve Wilkinson's wind assisted punt.  Stobswood pulled a goal back on half time but Pete Hall killed off any hope of a comeback before Stobswood late consolation. The As avenged a 7-0 humiliation at Blaydon earlier in the season with an impressive 3-2 victory at Seaton Burn.  Veteran goal poacher Rich Holme notched a couple and in form left winger Colin McLaughlin scored again.

Saturday May 7th

Club are delighted to announce two sponsorship deals.  G T Harvey will sponsor the 1st team home kit and UpNorth will again sponsor Race Night.  A massive thanks for B team players Matt Oglethorpe and Rich Toye for iniating this. On the pitch the 1st team put in a decent performance against Champions elect Hebburn Reyrolle but unluckily went down 2-0 despite plenty of possession.

Saturday April 30th

Two great results for top two teams, 1st had their best and most important victory of the season overcoming high flying Cullercoats 2-1 at Benson Park. Manager Merv Bell's tactical reshuffle paid dividends with goals from Josh Gow and fit again Darren Campbell, Bohs were indebted though to keeper Steve Wilkinson who saved an early penalty and then another late in the game to seal the vital three points. An undermanned Reserves side battled tremendously at Walker Central to clinch their fourth win in a row which looks to have saved them from the embarassment of relegation.  Bohs played the game with U18 outfield player Michael Cooper in nets and only the bare eleven.  Fellow U18's Jake Richardson, his first for the Bohs, and man of the match Andrew Robson netted before Liam Riley slotted the winner in the 75th minute.

A vastly understrength As were hammered 10-0 by Blyth Iosbella, who earlier in the season knocked the 1st team out of the Minor Cup.

Saturday March 12th

Waterlogged pitches halved the Bohs fixtures. The Reserves lost by the odd goal in five in the mud at New York, following on from their crazy 7-4 3G defeat to Whickham Laing Jacks on Wednesday.  John Elliott notched his fourth in three games as he recovers from long term injuries and Tom Skilbeck notchced a penalty with his first touch of the season.  There was drama at Newburn where big Mike Hedderman brilliantly saved a penalty but was beaten in injury time by another unfortunately conceded.  The Bs had battled back well from a goal behind to lead through Josh Armstrong and Chris Liddle goals.

Saturday March 5th

The 1sts lost a close fought Minor Cup semi-final to Blyth Iosbella to a single goal. Andy Renton hit the post for Bohs, but it was not to be.  Bitterly disappointing for manager Merv Bell and his team who had worked so hard to get there.  The Reserves had a great 3-1 away win to West Jesmond, who had thrashed them 5-1 in the league recently, in their Tyneside Amateur Shield quarter final.  Matt Buckley, Marcus Burn and fit again John Elliott were on traget.  It was groundhog day again for the As who lost a game in injury time after coming back from a defecit.  On Wednesday, Mark Envy's penalty and Colin McLoughlin's first for the club had put the As back on level terms against a Killingworth Plough side that had smashed 10 past them earlier in the year.  On Saturday strikes from Chris Wademan and Jamie Heaton were due reward for an excellent performance against 1st Divison Walker Central in the John Hampson Shield.  The Bs good run came to an end at the hands of Benwell Hill, 0-2.

Saturday Frebruary 12th

The Reserves ended thier 8 game losing run with an invalauble 3-1 win over Blyth Town on the 3G at the Parks.  After a goalless first half, the Reserves took the three poinst with Man of the Match Tom Forder's first for the club, Darren Campbell and an own goal.  All the other games were rained off or in the B's case cancelled due to their opponent Proctor and Gamble folding.

Saturday 5th February

The 1st team ended up worthy winners over unbeaten visitors Bedlington terrier Reserves of the North Northumberland League to progress to the Minor Cup Semi Final.  Josh Gow cooly scored a brace on his seasonal debut before Matty Atkin clinched the victory.  A depleted Reserves side put up a decent performance but went down 3-0 at Blyth Spartans to exit the John Hampson Shield at the first hurdle. The Bs were left aggrieved after going down 3-2 to Tyne View, Chris Liddle notched both for the Green and Black, the As were waterlogged out again.

Saturday 29th January

A great result for the A's who thrashed Longbenton for only their second league win of the season. Manager Mark Envy inspired the victory with a man of the match performance and a hatrick, a Rich Lee brace and Lewis Saxelby striker completed a confidence building rout.  The Reserves lost again, going down 5-0 to league leaders RS Benwell, despite this returning manager Michael Wood was pleased with many aspects of the performance.  The 1sts and Bs were frozen out.

The club are delighted to announce a sponsorship deal with the UpNorth Group who will be purchasing a new strip for the Bs and acting as main sponsor of this season's Race Night.

Saturday 22nd January

The 1sts reached the quarter final of the Minor cup with a hard earned win away to Alliance 2nd Division side Seaton Burn.  Peter Hall came off the bench to score the winner in the 85th minute after Matt Atkin's earlier goal had been cancelled out by a penalty.  Despite fielding a more experienced team of late and going ahead early through Andy Robson's third league goal of the season, the Reserves crashed to a 5-1 defeat to a bigger and stronger West Jesmond side. To complete a miserable day, the Reserves lost one of their promising young players Michael Cooper for the forseeable future with a bad ankle injury.  The A's put in a much improved performance and were disappointed to lose by the odd goal in 5 to high flying Cullercoats, with strikes from manager Mark Envy and a rare one from Chris Wademan.  The B's put out a strong side and came out 3-1 winners over last year's champions Chemfica, Josh Armstrong, Chris Liddle and Matt Oglethorpe were on target.
