Bohs comprehensively defeated a feisty Swarland
outfit. It was soon clear that the Green and black had the pace to break
through the visitors defence with ease but Bohs only managed one in the
first half when man of the match Adam Alexander won the ball with a thunderously
hard but fair challenge and then released Jason Thompson who ran
clear of the defence to finish coolly. Poor passing and narrow misses
prevented further goals.
In the second half tactical changes saw skipper Shaun Cavanagh dropping back to his more familiar centre back spot with Neil Hindley replacing the under the weather Mike Cave. These changes contributed to a better passing display that resulted in 6 further goals. Record scorer Sherwood helped himself to four, striking home two great free kicks from the edge of the box before waltzing through the visitors defence twice in the dying minutes. Thompson outpaced the defence yet again for another and Dave Alexander partly redeemed his penalty conceding tackle with another. More positives for Bohs were sooner than expected returns from injury for captain and vice captain, Cavanagh and Mark Brown, negatives were bookings for Brown and Buckley.
